The Fat Man

Maurice Gee for English

  1. Make a general comment about the novel (The Fat Man)?

I think this novel is a thoroughly well written book. It intrigues you with the description of 1930’s New Zealand and it is written in such a way that anything can happen at each turn of the page.

  1. What has the novel made you think about?

It made me think of stereotypes of different people

  1. Find a scene

character that interest you.

quotation

The scene that interests me is when they are looking for the valuables in Mrs Muskie’s house. This interest me because it is thoroughly enjoyable to read and how the fat man (Herbert Muskie) is challenging Colin

  1. What stereotypes in particular are you thinking about, NARWHAL? IF you're thinking about TFM as a stereotype, how has this affected him? DO you think he has changed his fat person stereotype at all?
